INTRODUCTION:
Haridwar is situated in Uttaranchal near Nazibabad and Dehradun . It is believed that Haridwar is the land of salvation . This holy place belongs to Lord Shiva as well as Lord Vishnu . Haridwar is the place where Prince Bhagirath brought the Ganga River from heaven. Its one of the four venues for the Kumbha Mela (Fair which happens once in 12 years) along with Ujjain, Allahabad and Varanasi. Ganga, the most scared river on planet originates from Gomukh in the Himalayas and first spot when Ganga river hits plains from mountains is Haridwar. Its peoples faith that after taking bath in Ganga river we can wash our sins. It is a very beautiful combination of natural beauty, religious temple, recreation centers and so many other attractions.
ATTRACTIONS:
HAR KI PAURI Har means Lord vishnu and Paudi means steps. At this place you will find large footprint of lord Vishnu on a stone wall thats why it came to known as Har Ki Paudi. Also it is believed that when in old times, all GOD were given Amrit (sacred liquid) and 2 drops of amrit fell in Ganga and this is the same place where Har ki Paudi (kund) is located. This place is the main reason to visit Haridwar and to take bath in Ganga's flowing pure water . To take bath in this pure and sacred water people come from thousands of kilometers/miles. Even in the scorching heat of sun in summers, the water of Ganga river is completely chilly. Once you take dip in water you will feel fresh as your soul took bath. This is the most sacred bank (ghat) in Haridwar. There are lot of stalls of punditji (priests) where you can put your clothes and some other items and they will charge approx 50 or 100 Rs. only .They will take care of your items and you can take bath without any worry or tension. There is a mahila ghat also (Ladies bathing area) where only women take bath and can change clothes there are stalls too where you can put your clothes and change clothes. After taking bath there are two temples on Har Ki Paudi which you can visit there .

CHANDIDEVI TEMPLE The temple of Chandi Devi is situated on the top of the Neel Parvat on the other side of Holy Ganga River. Chanda-Munda and Shumbha-Nishumbha, were killed by Goddess Chandi here after that the place got the name Chandi Devi. Devotees can go there by hiking or by rope way (Cable car) charges are Rs.70 for adults. Its reknowned all over india and its peoples faith whatever you wish here you will surely get that.
MANSHA DEVI TEMPLE The temple is dedicated to Mansa Devi, a form of Shakti (Power). Located at the top of Bilwa Parvat (Hill), As the name suggest this temple is also world wide famous and whatever you wish you will get that definitely. You can go there also through ropeway or by hiking. Its situated in the lap of natural mountains also keep a note that gondola (Cable car) that lift you to the temple for that there is a long queue sometime specially insummer vacations or on some festival season so if you want to go you should start for temple early morning so that you can save your precious time. It will chargeyou approx 50 to 70 Rs.
HOW TO REACH:
Haridwar is easily accessible place you can visit there by air, bus, train. By Rail Haridwar has a railway station of its own,which is well connected with cities of India. Many trains coming from Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Kolkata, etc There are a large number of trains available for reaching Haridwar from New Delhi, with the ones to Dehradun also making a stoppage here.

CHAT WALI GALI In this street you can eat variety of food chat, gol-gappe, lassie , sweets many more. It is very famous street in Haridwar.
KANJI KI PAKORI is the specialty of Haridwar it is a moong dal pakori dipped in spicy water, very yummy in taste. You can find it easily in chat wali gali.
MATHURA WALA is famous for his poori with aaloo sabji and meethi kashiphal sabji. One plate is must and rest depends on your taste.
LASSIE in Haridwar, specially frozen lassi with malai, it will be very tasty and addictive.
BRIJWASI SWEETS SHOP is very famous for hygienic, lovely, delicious and unique sweets.You can taste chhach(Butter milk) at this shop too. Kaju barfi (Cashew cakes), chocolate burfi (Chocolate cakes) all are very tasty at this shop. I will recommend chocolate burfi is must, I bet you cannot stop after eating only one.
CHOTI WALA is famous for Choley bhaturey, Stuff parathey, Dosa, Tandoorie parathey are very tasty. Choley bhaturey in brunch.

SHOPPING IN HARIDWAR:
Haridwar is most sacred place where you can find painting of god/goddess, pictures, clothes for pooja. Material which are used in pooja like utensils of brass and copper, carpets to sit during pooja etc. Woolen clothes, toys, quilts, blankets you can find it all in very good quality there. So its a good market for shopping too but beware of prices shopkeepers quote you can do a lot of bargaining here.
CUSTOMIZED KEYRINGS (with your name) It is very famous in Haridwar for that you can give your name in written to the shopkeeper and they will print your name on yours choice key ring @Rs 20 . It will become a souvenir for you.
Aam papad (Mango layers candy cakes), Pickles are also very tasty of Haridwar, don’t be shy for tasting it before buying.

BHARAT MATA TEMPLE Specialty of this temple is that its multi floors escalator facility, it is comprised of approx 7 floors, but it will cost you approx Rs.2 per person.
VAISNODEVI TEMPLE It is the carbon copy of Vaishno Devi temple which is located in Jammu, also in Haridwar temple there is Ardhkunwari, you will definitely appreciate the construction of this temple.
PATANJALI YOGPEETH It is a globally renowned mahatma’s(saint) ashram BABA RAMDEV there you will find wide space very well constructed structure and medicines, food, rooms facilities are provided there too @ very reasonable cost. Thousands of people visit there and cured by baba's yog so you must go there its advisable. Its approx 40km. far from Haridwar. In baba's research and agriculture farm, there are lots of plants , herb plants which are used to make medicines. It is very well maintained like plants are protected under shades and coolers are available there for plants so its eyes soothing atmosphere and environment over there.
CRYSTAL WORLD It is a water park situated near Haridwar and patanjali yog peeth. Its full of fun , frolic and entertainment rides. There are restaurants also. You can take swimming trunks and female costumes from there but it is advisable that bring your costumes because one which are available there are in bad condition and dirty also and you have to pay 70 to 100 Rs. extra for that per person. MORNING AND EVENING AARTI IN HARIDWAR Aarti is very beautifully organized there every early morning and evening. Punditji do pooja with torches and thousands of people drop their wish bowls full of flowers and Deepak in serene water. This arti is also a main thing to visit Haridwar. Sometimes bollywood and TV stars are present there for their shootings. Ganga Mata aarti plays on speakers and everybody do pooja with that its awesome view. you will find lots of people around Ganga river it seems like Deewali atmosphere there and the Deepak, torches reflects in ganga water seems very pretty.

Both are good and are located near Har Ki Pauri which is happening place and core area. If you want to stay outside or want to avoid the core area the best and good option where you can stay is Hotel Anuradha Palace it is near Pawan Dham temple and we recommend that you book AC rooms in summer, rooms are not very big and very nice (and AC is also good)
