MUSSOORIE (INDIA)







INTRODUCTION:
Mussoorie is in Uttaranchal it is 34 km from Dehradun. This is the most beautiful and charming hill station in India. Mussoorie is also called the queen of hills. This hill station is very near to capital of India (Delhi) to make a weekend trip only. Pilgrimage site like Kedarnath, Badrinath , Gangotri , Yamunotri , Haridwar , Rishikesh are not far from this place. It provides relief to peoples who want to avoid sultry condition of plains. Mussoorie is famous for its scenic beauty. It gives all type of entertainment to domestic and foreign visitors. Near Mussoorie there is a town Landour which is having military cantonment is considered a part of greater Mussoorie. One can say Mussoorrie is the paradise on earth the wonderful honeymoon destination.
It is covered with snow caped and lush green surroundings. Once you visit this place you will really fall in love with Mussoorie.

Mussoorrie is filled with fascinating and wonderful attractions. In Mussoorie there is something for every age. There are countless parks, temples, malls and schools.
KEMPTY FALLS These falls are 15 km from Mussoorie to reach there one can take taxi or bus from the library stand. A stair case will lead you to the water fall. It is the finest waterfall in Mussoorie. These falls are called the star attractions of Mussoorie. The water falls from 4500 ft. and in between touch the rocks on its way than finally fall into fine stream. It is awesome. You can enjoy with water here. In between the stair case way you will find some shops of edible items.
GUNHILL This is the highest mountain of Mussoorie. You can reach there by ropeway or by walk. It takes only 20 mins. During ropeway you can see the eyes shooting scenery below as you are being transported . You can enjoy here the enchanting Himalayan range like Gangotri and glaciers. This place is very calm and quiet will refresh you in few minutes. It is called Gun hill because one gun is mounted there on the top of the hill. This mountain has relation with history.
LALA TIBBA Lal tibba is the highest point in Mussoorie .Visitor can reach there by horse riding to take a breath taking view of some old buildings which reminds British era. There is a telescope placed there you can see the Badrinath and Kedarnath through this. It is very scenic place 5 km from Mussoorie passes through Landour Bazar. This place is the most attractive attraction among visitors.
MUNCIPAL GARDEN This garden is also known as botanical garden it is 2 km from Mussoorie by road or 4 km if you will go there by pony. There is one artificially created lake also you can do boating there. Here you can do paddling boat. It is very beautiful garden very popular among visitors.
MUSSOORIE LAKE This is newly constructed lake picnic spot build by city board & Mussoorie Dehradun development authority. It is 6 km from Musoorie is on Mussoorie Dehradun road having so many paddle boat. You can do boating here and can take the breath taking view of Dehradun valley . In night view is awesome .There are some local cuisines you can enjoy snacking there too.
JHARIPANI FALLS AND BHATTA FALLS There are two other falls also which are 7 km from Mussoorie you can enjoy here with water or also can take bath also in waterfall. It is also one of among Mussoorie attractions.
CAMELS BACK POINT As the name suggest this place resembles like hump back of camel. You can enjoy the pony ride or you can track to this place. Sun set is famous among tourist to see from this point. It is awesome place to take fascinating look of Himalayas range.
HIMALAYA’S WEAVERS This place is 6 km from Mussoorie - Dhanulti road. It produces hand woven shawls, scarfs only by using natural wool, silk and pashmina. They want to produce weather friendly woolens and provide a market for craft products made in Himalayan area.
NAG DEVTA TEMPLE This temple is 6 km from Mussoorie come on Cart Mackenzie road. Vehicle access is there dedicated to lord Shiva. From this temple you can enjoy the Mussoorie and the Doon valley.
JWALAJI TEMPLE This temple is 9 km from MUSSOORIE (WEST) 2240 MT. Dedicated to goddess Durga . There is awesome Aglar river valley view. It cannot be accessed by vehicle but motor road goes most of the way from Mussoorie.
DHANAULTI This area is 28 km from Mussoorie . It is forest area you can do camping here. There are so many trail. You can go there by taxi or car.
HOW TO REACH:
Mussoorie is easily accessible by rail, bus or air. The nearest airport is Jolly Grand airport which is in Dehradun. Flights from major cities nearly connected to Dehradun from where you can hire local transport to Mussoorie.
The nearest railway station is in Dehradun which is mainly connected to all major cities. From railway station you can take taxi to Mussoorie.
A big network of roads are available to get in Mussoorie . It connects from place like Dehradun, Delhi, Barkot, Hanuman chatti , Nainital , Saharanpur, Shrinagar, Garhwal. Visitors can take buses run by Uttaranchal state transport corporation or contact private operators for bus service.
Inside Mussoorie you can get around with rickshaw or taxi but most of the places are closed to most vehicles. If you want to take the ride of rickshaw you can catch it from the library end of the mall to about the midpoint.

You can buy from here pure pashmina, shawls, strawls and woolen sweaters. There is a market Landor bazaar which is famous for tailoring who will sew up a new outfit for you in few minutes.
So if you like handmade stuff you should check out these shops which are mainly on mall road.
ITEMS REQUIRED:
Do not forget to bring woolen clothes if you are going to visit in winters because in winters especially in Dec-Jan it’s freezing here. Camera’s, binoculars, tripod, first aid are highly required there.
