Redding is 320 mile from San Francisco it is situated in Northern California. It is a hub of natural attractions. There are many hiking and biking trails. The three Shasta called trinity are also very near to this place Mount Shasta, Lake Shasta and Shasta Dam. The world famous Sundial bridge in itself a wonderful architecture so these famous natural attractions make this place more beautiful. Greenery is prevailing everywhere in this place. Redding is surrounded by mountains. Weather is very pleasant here in summers. It is a perfect example of natural beauty. Anywhere there you will see, you will find eyes soothing view in Redding and around.

SUNDIAL BRIDGE This bridge is extra ordinary the floor of this bridge is made of granite and it is having white light beneath which looks very good in night. It is of white color and is very unique. This bridge is one of it’s own kind and most probably you have not seen such thing before. There are some trails near to this bridge. Sacramento river is flowing down the bridge. It is architected by Santiago Calabria and he said that the bridge looks as bird is in flight.
SHASTA DAM It is California largest and highest attraction, it is very beautifully constructed. From this place you can take a breath taking view of Shasta trinity (Mount Shasta + Lake Shasta + Dam Shasta). Parking is free here. You can walk here crossing the garden which is near to this bridge. You can also take beautiful pictures of the beautiful surroundings.

SHASTA LAKE It is also very good attraction near Redding its manmade lake very good for fishing and boating. Near this you can do camping and picnic. Awesome view perfect combination of lake, greenery and mountains. It is approx 15 miles from Redding.

LAKE SHASTA CAVERN It is naturally created structures. You will see here the stalactite and stalagmite. It is wonderful to see and question as how they are created in thousands of years by dripping water. You can take a tour in which you will go there by cruise and then by bus to entrance gate. It is a paid tour and takes 1/2 hr every 1/2 hr tour departs and guide will tell you about the history of its natural creation. Awesome natural wonder you will enjoy here. The boating and cruising in Shasta lake and beautiful cave you will get a different experience here. You can do photography here including the cavern area, so be prepared with all your gadgets. There is a shop of souvenirs where you can buy some memories of this place. It is closed on thanksgiving day or Christmas day.

LAVA BEDS NATIONAL MONUMENT At this place Volcano eruption has created a unique and incredible landscape. There are many caves some are underground and have 2-3 floors. Some reflects golden color on its wall, some have lava tubes (obviously without lava). Lights are arranged here for visitors. There are numerous (countless) caves and all natural. To visit these caves you have to pay $10 or so for flash lights because some caves are completely dark so you need flash light there and after completing you visit to caves you have to return this flash light to the visitor center. This remains open year around except Christmas day timings are different in summers and in winters timings are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. So if you want to see natural calamity signs this is the best place. Be careful during your visit inside cave because sometimes the sealing of some caves are very sharp that can heart you. Some caves have stair case to get into it. There are guided tour also for that you need reservation. It is very colder there in cave than outside so do not forget to bring your woolen clothes. All caves are nearby and had their own quality. MOUNT SHASTA Mount Shasta is 60 mile from Redding and 3500-14162 feet high. This is the mountain always covered with snow even in summers too because of its height. It gives challenge to hikers and climbers. Some small lower trails are also there to enjoy hiking for beginners. You need a check in it the ranger station if you want to do hiking or climbing there.

LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK It is 48 mile from Redding. The history behind this park is Lassen peak burst into eruption because of that this park was made a national park and an active volcanic landscape. There are so many active natural sulphur springs. They are in active mode. When you reach near these sulphur springs a stinking smell you will feel. This park in winters cover with snow. When you will drive to this park on the way so many beautiful spots will come so there you can stop by and can take some photos. Beautiful place to visit once at least.

HOW TO REACH:
Redding is easily accessible by bus, car or by air. From San Francisco airport there are so many frequent flights to Redding and it is well connected by interstate highways. If you will take I-80 east and I-5 north will reach you there early if you are going to start from San Francisco.
STAY:
There are many mid range budget and spurge hotels near and in Redding. It will be better if you stay in Redding and make it central base point because all above attractions are very near to this place.
