HASTINAPUR (INDIA)

INTRODUCTION:

Hastinapur a town near Meerut in Uttar Pradesh is a pilgrimage. It is the capital of Kaurvas kingdom in Mahabharat. It is 37 Km. from Meerut and 110 Km. from Delhi. Hastinapur is considered to be the most ancient city of India. The war between Kaurvas and Pandavas were only because of the thrown of Hastinapur. It is considered Kashi of Jain religion. It is peoples belief that this city is constructed by god itself.

ATTRACTIONS:

There are lot of temples which are beautifully constructed. These are belongs to both Swetambers and Digambers. Temples are huge and appreciable. Jambodeep and Karnal mandir (lotus temple) are unique for its dazzling white artistic creation both are unique in itself. Peoples from allover India come here to celebrate here Akshay tritya, Ganga snan, Holy , Deewali and so. In Hastinapur you will find something for every age like for old age there are exhibitions related with ancient history of Hastinapur, painting exhibition, fountains of laughter and for kids there are Jambodeep train and various swings etc. tourist also enjoy here the lush green garden and dancing colorfull flowers kids can play here with natural beauty. On the occasion of festival such as Holi, Deewali, Akshay tritya, Kartik poornima, Sharad poornima you will find some extra and special arrangements here by Digember and Swetsamber community. A special celebration “Jambodeep mahamahotsava" is celebrated here after every 5 years. In Hastinapur there is wild sanctuary also so if you are interested in wild life you can plan to visit this place too. In this national park you can see various species and migrated birds during winter season.

HOW TO REACH:

Hastinapur is very easily access able place. There is a regular transport service for Hastinapur by U.P roadways and D.T.C from I.S.B.T or anand vihar bus stand. Buses are very easily available here every after 20 minutes or so. Jambodeep is the stop point for buses so near this place you will easily get transport. Railway transport is also very convenient between Meerut to Delhi so peoples can easily reach Hastinapur the supposed heaven on the earth for the mental peace and to wish something here in the temple. Privately own vehicles are also find here so you can get taxi here too.

In festive season it will be hard to find place for stay because peoples from all over country come to visit this place so you have to book your room prior to your visit. There are dharmshalas with AC, coolers, double beds all type of facilities you can get according to your budget. In festive season or in summers you can get free sharbat and bhandara food here. Coolers are arranged here by community in most of temples for visitors. It is very beautifully maintained neat and clean place of Jain’s so it will be worth to spend 1 or 2 days here in the lap of historical place.
